LEARN A LANGUAGE!

School is back in session, but whether you’re a current student or not, you can still use this time to learn something new. With apps and software such as Duolingo and Rosetta Stone, the ability to learn a language is right at your fingertips.
Why learn a new language, you may ask? Well, aside from the fact that our world is getting smaller and technological advances mean countries are no longer so isolated, learning a new language does wonders for your brain.
Studies have shown that polyglots (people who can speak multiple languages) are actually better at remembering sequences and are more aware of their surroundings, which translates to the ability to more efficiently filter information. Other studies have suggested that learning a second language may have a positive effect on cognitive aging.
Cheers to you learning a new language! Or, shall we say, L’chaim! Yamas! Salute!
