A positive mindset has immediate benefits and also enhances the ability to grow healthy emotions and interactions. By surrounding yourself with positive people, situations and images, you are likely to feel the good vibes and continue to build this beneficial mindset

Sarah, a college sophomore and active member of the LYB Community, recently took steps to ensure that she has an uplifting space to fuel her positive mindset and remind her of the importance of a brain healthy lifestyle. Sarah created a photo display on the wall of her college apartment to look at every day. As she begins her school year and anticipates a mixture of emotions and energy levels, she has given herself visual reminders of the people and experiences that bring her joy, support and positivity.

Here are a few suggestions for introducing visuals into your space:

  • Inspirational Quotes
  • Vision Board
  • Mantra or Intention
  • Art work
  • Photos of people
  • Photos of places that you find uplifting, calming or special
  • Goal Sheet
  • A shelf with items that induce positive memories

Visual displays are a great example of how to reinforce positive thinking and to remind your brain of what brings you joy, love and inspiration. So, go find a wall, desk, refrigerator or bathroom mirror to hang something that bring positivity to each and every day!
