EAT POMEGRANATE SEEDS!

The pomegranate: one of our favorite holiday fruits. Its ruby red arils (seeds) are tangy, crunchy, and festive.
Pomegranates also benefit the brain by:
- Reducing stress (as long as you manage your frustration while removing those stain-producing seeds!)
- Providing a high dose of polyphenols, a unique type of neuroprotective antioxidant
Tips for eating pomegranate seeds:
We suggest mixing them in salads for a burst of color and texture. Or, combine arils with roasted butternut squash or Brussels sprouts. Pomegranate concentrate is great as well. Try adding it to your smoothie!
So, put on an apron, carefully cut a pomegranate in quarters, submerge the fruit in a big bowl of water (to avoid splattering the juice), and remove the seeds. The hard work is worth it.
