Outreach Intern Volunteer
The LoveYourBrain Foundation (LYB) is a nonprofit organization founded to improve the quality of life of people affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI) through programs that build community. Learn more at www.loveyourbrain.com. The LYB Yoga program includes a free 6-week gentle yoga series designed for people with TBI and their caregivers. Our program is delivered in both community-based settings through partnership with yoga studios, as well in clinical settings through partnership with select TBI rehabilitation facilities (known as “Clinical Affiliates”). This way, we are supporting people affected by TBI to learn meditation and yoga skills across the full continuum of care -- from medical facility to community. Currently, we have partnerships with 47 yoga studios across 24 US states and 4 Canadian provinces, and intend to expand our program to all 50 states and across Canada by 2021.
We are seeking an Outreach Intern to join the LYB Yoga team with an interest in conducting outreach to raise awareness about our programs across the US and Canada. The ideal candidate also has experience in Salesforce.
Research TBI-relevant hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, advocacy groups, support groups, etc. in the states selected for LYB Yoga program expansion
Research media contacts in the states selected for LYB Yoga program expansion
Populate excel spreadsheet/google sheet with data on contact information on outreach leads
Send press releases and make follow-up calls to media outlets in existing program locations
Research social media outlets to promote the LYB Yoga program in existing locations
Create accounts, contacts, and campaigns in Salesforce
Help innovate existing outreach strategy
This position reports to Kimberly Baker, Director of Implementation. The position is unpaid and part-time (5-10 hours per week), and requires a 6-month commitment. Weekly team calls (60 minutes) are held once a week (currently every Friday at 8am PST/11am EST though could be changed depending on availability).
Skills and knowledge:
Highly-developed organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write effectively for a range of different audiences (i.e., people with TBI, health care professionals, media, general public)
Highly-developed oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to modify communication style appropriately for different audiences
The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and to both take direction and work autonomously where appropriate
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google platforms
Experience with Salesforce is a plus, ideally the ability to perform the following:
Create and maintain fields, views, reports, dashboards, campaigns and other salesforce.com objects and functions.
Maintain, enhance and create workflows, functions and process builders within the Salesforce.com environment.
Handle on-going customization/ alteration of Salesforce.com. Update Record Types, Page Layouts, etc.
Use Data Loader, Data Importer, or NPSP Data Import to mass upload historical data into salesforce.com.
Excellent Excel management skills sorting and cleaning data.

Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree (completed or candidate)
Experience as a yoga teacher or practitioner is a plus
