In 2012, I had a traumatic brain injury in a car accident, which dramatically changed the course of my life. My healing journey led me to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, meditation, and gentle yoga, which have all been instrumental in my continued recovery. I am currently in a teacher training program through the School of Gentle Yoga. I feel that through my experience with brain injury, I will be a much more compassionate and understanding teacher, and am looking forward to helping those on their journey as much as others who have helped me in mine.
I wrote this meditation based on several practices that have supported my healing process immensely. I incorporated finding a safe, secure place that reminds you of all the people who support you, and Yoga Nidra, which draws awareness to the sensations of the body for full relaxation. As my journey continues, I’m looking forward to incorporating my love for writing with yoga and meditation.
