The LoveYourBrain Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people affected by traumatic brain injury. Now in our fourth year, we offer national programs designed to foster resilience and build community. We envision a world where everyone affected by traumatic brain injury is connected to a compassionate community and empowered by resources to live a brain healthy lifestyle.
We are seeking a Retreat intern to supporting in the growth of the retreat program. This role is a dynamic position requiring someone with expertise in program administration and management, program evaluation, a strong interest in expanding LoveYourBrain’s impact. This role requires a self-starter dedicated to promoting TBI healing and prevention. This position reports directly to Amber Davey, Retreat Manager.
The role is 3-5 hours a week, and may require travel to a number of LYB retreats. The duration of this contract will be based upon the agreed terms and responsibilities outlined below.
Support fundraising efforts
Support with administrative tasks
Support in person at retreats
Support communications with retreat participants
Manage administrative tasks vital to the daily operations of the retreat program
Manage communications with participants
Manage application form and follow up with applicants
Write newsletter entries for announcements and recaps
Support fundraising model
Assist with fundraising
Develop model to get students engaged in fundraising and support their efforts (i.e., setting goals, setting up personal pages)
Assist with finalizing financial outcomes and reporting
Support events and campaigns
Assist in developing a monitoring and evaluation system to assess impact
Synthesize key findings into reports to present internally and externally
Location: Ideally based on east coast.
Skills and knowledge:
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write effectively for a range of different audiences (i.e., people with TBI, health care professionals, media, general public)
Highly-developed oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to modify communication style appropriately for different audiences
Highly-developed organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and to both take direction and work autonomously where appropriate
Experience working with: Microsoft word, Excel, Google Forms, Google Sheets, Google drive (required), Classy (preferred) and Salesforce (preferred)
English native speaker

Willing to work remotely
Qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree completed
Curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation experience
