WHY THIS PARTNERSHIP?

Together with Vew-Do, we will bring greater balance to people recovering from brain injury. After a brain injury, everything becomes unbalanced. Not only your mental state, but also your physical state. We are committed to helping people find ways to come back to their equilibrium. This begins with creating a solid foundation to move forward from.

HOW THIS PRODUCT IMPROVES BRAIN HEALTH?

Here are some of the main benefits of our balance board, according to Dr. Glen Zielinski at Northwest Functional Neurology:

1. Improves Balance: The LoveYourBrain x Vew-Do balance board has the ability to challenge the nervous system and can lead to great changes throughout the brain and musculoskeletal system in general. This can result in increased balance, stability, movement efficiency, and overall neurological function.

2. Improves Stamina: The balance board can also be paired with other types of stimuli, such as eye exercises, to increase the difficulty of the task itself. This provides a type of incremental progression that may allow patients and/or athletes to improve their physical stamina utilizing proprioceptive (“body awareness”) feedback mechanisms.

3. Assessment Tool: The balance board may also be a useful tool in assessing baseline function of balance and stability, which can be re-assessed using the same diagnostic criteria for re-evaluation of skill. Although the use of the board (at this time) doesn’t allow for true objective diagnostic testing and quantification of movements, it does allow for a quick assessment and possible therapeutic intervention for the improvement of movement and dynamic balance overall.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The elephant symbolizes optimism, strength, patience, protection, and regeneration and has the largest brain among mammals. Despite being a heavy animal, its intelligence defies gravity and finds the perfect balance. For this illustration, Dan used a group of fluid lines that stylize the wrinkles of an elephant, and at the same time refer to brain pathways. - Dan Alin Ursu (Artist)
