MindfulMarch Series:
Be Compassionate
In this practice, we will use the breath and a mindfulness the body to welcome compassion for self. (Length: 9 minutes)
RJ Lisander (she/her/hers) has had two traumatic brain injuries, and understands the challenges and effects of recent and long-term injury. She has worked hard to overcome many of these challenges, yet it wasn't until she found LoveYourBrain that all the pieces fell into place.
”Compassion is broken into two parts: ‘com’ (together with) and ‘passion’ (to suffer). To me this means to recognize what is uncomfortable with the perceived faults, circumstances that make us feel less than, and the things of life that make us unsure. Through exploring this space we begin to develop a practice and gain increased skills which allow us to accept these thoughts and feelings are not all of who we are. This exploration leads, over time, to an awareness of loving kindness for self and by extension we learn to act with that same loving kindness for others.“ - RJ
