Norwich, VT - Adam Pearce, Executive Director of the LoveYourBrain Foundation, has been named one of CNN’s Top Ten Heroes of the Year for 2023. He’s now in the running to be named CNN Hero of the Year, and win $100,000 for the nonprofit he co-founded with his brother, former professional snowboarder, Kevin Pearce, in 2014.

Annually, CNN selects 10 heroes from among thousands of nominations worldwide, in an initiative to recognize everyday people for their selfless, creative efforts to make the world a better place. Now, the public votes for Hero of the Year - and the winner receives a $100,000 donation for their organization.

“This is big news for brain injury,” shared Pearce. “As a leading cause of disability and one of the most expensive public health problems in the world, brain injury is common, chronic, and complex. That’s why CNN’s recognition of our work as one of ten causes in the world is powerful.”

Adam and Kevin started LoveYourBrain after Kevin’s near-fatal TBI, and the inspiring healing journey that followed. As a nonprofit, LoveYourBrain has pioneered the use of yoga and mindfulness for healing after TBI, advanced the science behind its benefits, and re-imagined how people can actively participate in improving their quality of life. LoveYourBrain provides free, holistic, evidence-based programs and resources designed to help people affected by TBI - from concussion to severe - (re)connect to the healthy body, balanced mind, and social connection necessary to thrive after injury.

The public can vote every day (up to ten times per day) at www.cnnheroes.com. Voting closes at 11:59pm PST on December 5th, and the winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in New York.
