Job Description: Development - Coordinator

Position: Development - Coordinator

Reports to: Development and Communications Director

Location: Remote in the United States (East Coast preferred)

Employment Category: Full Time

Salary Range: $45,000-$60,000

Start Date:  March, 2024

About us: The LoveYourBrain Foundation is a US-based nonprofit that improves the quality of life of people affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI). Since 2014, we’ve been pioneering the use of yoga and mindfulness for healing after TBI (including concussion), advancing the science behind its benefits, and re-imagining how people can actively participate in improving their quality of life. This is an exciting time for our organization - 2024 is our 10-year anniversary, and our Executive Director was recently recognized as a Top Ten CNN Hero (see video segment here: https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/10/us/yoga-meditation-retreat-traumatic-brain-injury-cnnheroes/index.html). Our comprehensive model of care is growing, and continues to be available at no-cost because of our fundraising efforts.

Job summary: The Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in meeting our annual fundraising goals, which leads to more impact and support for the brain injury community around the world. This role requires a combination of project management and relationship building - you’ll be responsible for all administrative, operational, and logistical support, and charged with building authentic and compassionate relationships with our fundraisers, donors, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, personable, self-motivated, and ready to grow and evolve with our organization.

LoveYourBrain believes that TBI, caregiving, and the intersections where our organization works - namely within healthcare, yoga, and wellness spaces - disproportionality impact the most marginalized in our society, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, non-binary people, people living with disabilities, people with intersecting identities, and others with lived experience being part of marginalized communities. We believe these communities must be centered in the work we do. Therefore we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other marginalized communities.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Donor relations: Support cultivation, stewardship, retention, and engagement of LoveYourBrain’s pipeline of donors and fundraisers. Draft inspiring communications for individual and institutional donors - such as acknowledgement letters, donor reports, LOIs and grant proposals. Manage and track donor pipeline(s) and moves-management processes, conduct prospect research, and serve as the first point-of-contact for our donors. Provide 1:1 support to peer-to-peer fundraisers and maintain our monthly giving program - the Building Resilience Project.

  • Systems, data and projects administration: Develop, maintain, and update project plans and workbacks for development campaigns, events, and projects, tracking key progress, milestones and deadlines, and flagging risks or delays for leadership. Serve as lead in Classy and Salesforce for all fundraising CRM activities, including working with Classy customer support as needed, and running weekly and monthly reports. Oversee data and gift processing, and maintain a weekly revenue allocation process.

  • Annual Events and Campaigns: Support with all logistics associated with our virtual and in-person fundraising events (including Ride for Resilience, Golf Tournament, Major Donor luncheons). Serve as primary contact with vendor(s), and lead day-of volunteers. Coordinate all annual campaigns (including Giving Tuesday, MindfulMarch, and our Revel raffle), and serve as fundraiser point-of-contact. You’ll identify, advertise, and ship fundraising prizes and donor gifts.

  • Other: Oversee administration of online storefront, and participate in other activities as needed, including organization-wide activities such as retreats and team off-sites. Minimal travel to specific events will be required (>10%).

While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job or to require that other or different tasks be performed as assigned.
