Mindful Monday Series:
Be Real
Guided by the Earth element, this meditation uses breath and visualization to help us remember our stability and support from within. (Approximately 9 minutes.)
This practice is led by Megan Cauley.
Megan is a certified yoga teacher based in Philadelphia, PA. She has been teaching yoga since 2014 with a grounded enthusiasm for the healing properties of yoga and meditation. At the core of all her teachings is the belief that we are all connected to each other through and with nature.
“For me, being real has meant finding harmony with all the textures of life. In my experience, authenticity is born from approaching life with honesty, humility, and a dash of humor. It is so easy to lose ourselves in the ups and downs, especially when dealing with a traumatic brain injury. Out of balance, we can cling to the high far away realms and pretend it’s ‘good vibes only’. Alternatively, we can allow ourselves to wallow in the deep depths until life blurs out of focus. Mindfulness has a wonderful way of holding space for both the dark and light, creating peace from truth. This all requires vulnerability. Vulnerability is courageous action towards understanding ourselves and others. When we can ‘Be Real’ with ourselves, we have the opportunity to be mindfully present with all that actually is instead of regretting the past or worrying about the future. These experiences help us to connect to ourselves, our community, nature, and spirit. As long as I have breath, I have an opportunity to practice authentically connecting with compassion towards myself and others.” - Megan
