Dr. Michelle Morrissey

 

Dr. Michelle Morrissey received her master’s degree and PhD in marriage/family therapy with different concentrations. She is an EMDRIA Approved Basic & Advanced EMDR Trainer, an Approved Consultant, therapist, and co-owner of The Morrissey Institute, LLC. She began using EMDR for Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) in 2009. In 2013, she was published in the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research for using EMDR on a child with severe separation anxiety disorder. In 2016, she was a recipient of EMDRIA’s Research Grant for her dissertation on using EMDR-IGTP (group EMDR protocol) for vicarious trauma among first responders. In 2019, she was an NCU Alumni of the Year Finalist for her work with TBIs.

In 2022, she published her book, An A-To-Z Guide for Interweaves. She has been invited to speak at conferences in Canada and the USA and has been interviewed on Let’s Talk EMDR, EMDRIA’s Focal Point Blog, Notice That Podcast, Life After Impact, and Building Brain Awareness (BBA) to help support brain injury recovery.
