Zoom FAQS
GENERAL ZOOM QUESTION
Do I need a Zoom account to attend?
No, as a participant you do not need to create a Zoom account. For a desktop version, you can download Zoom here.
What do I need to prepare (technically)?
You’ll need to make sure you have a strong internet connection and the meeting will be best accessed on a laptop or desktop. You can also use headphones if you wish. We’d love to see your faces too, so find a space with good lighting! Please note that we do not want participants dialing into the meeting from their mobile devices.
How do I access the Zoom meeting?
There will be an access link in your acceptance email and you can use this same link each day. The email will also have a meeting password. You can also check out this document.
How do I ask a question during the meeting?
There are a couple of options: you can either “raise your hand” or type a question in the chat. If you click on “Participants” at the bottom of your Zoom screen, you will have the following options: Invite, Mute Me, and Raise Hand. The host will be able to see who has raised their hand and you can either type or unmute yourself to ask a question.
Can I access Zoom using my smartphone?
Yes, there are free apps for both iOS and Android, however, some features may be compromised.
If I’m having issues connecting, is there a way LoveYourBrain will support me?
Yes, we will be hosting “office hours” at a later date where participants from our Retreat and Yoga programs can connect with us and make sure everything is working on their end.
SECURITY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
What is Zoom-bombing and what is LoveYourBrain doing to protect meetings?
Zoom-bombing is a recent trend where Internet trolls hack into Zoom meetings and display their own content. We’ve protected our meeting with a password and also have a “waiting room”. We will have to admit each person into the meeting. Another tactic? The hosts and admins are the only participants that are able to share their screen.
Will the meetings be recorded?
Yes! We will be recording all sessions so individuals can go back and review the day’s teachings (this also allows participants to take more frequent screen time breaks if needed). The recordings will just show the host (we won’t record anyone in gallery view). If you have any further questions about this, please email yoga@loveyourbrain.com.
