As we approach warmer temperatures, the temptation to relax outside with something cold to drink becomes more desirable. While many drinks are loaded with all kinds of excess, processed sugar, a healthier alternative is kombucha.

What is kombucha? Kombucha is a fermented tea drink that is loaded with probiotics. These probiotics do wonders for your gut health and may be linked to other health benefits, including your brain health. As we’ve talked about in previous tips, our gut health is closely linked with our brain. In particular, there are two different strains of probiotics that have been shown to reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress.

This is something you can try to make on your own as store bought ones can run a bit high in price and it can be a fun activity to try during these times of social distancing. There are plenty of resources online, but make sure you do your research before getting into making your own kombucha. You can also add in fresh fruit and herbs to play around with flavoring. Happy brewing!
