Smarter Strategies

Using Smart Devices for Focus and Memory After Brain Injury

With Michelle Wild
Wednesday, February 17th, 2027 6:00 - 7:15 pm ET on Zoom

What if the technology you already use every day could become a powerful partner in your brain injury recovery? Many of the tools needed to support memory, attention, organization, and follow-through are already built into the smartphones and tablets we carry with us every day. Learning how to use these tools strategically can help reduce cognitive load, increase independence, and make daily life feel more manageable.

Led by Michelle Wild, founder of Brain Education Strategies & Technology (BEST), this practical Learning Lab will explore how built-in smartphone and tablet features, combined with practical cognitive strategies, can improve success in daily life after brain injury. We’ll explore the free StrategizeMyLife app, which provides a simple way to document, organize, and consistently use personalized strategies—so the approaches that work in real life don’t get lost, and you can turn small wins into steady progress. We’ll learn about the free PaceMyDay app, which can help you plan and structure your day, manage energy levels, and create routines that reduce overwhelm and support follow-through.

Whether you're a person with brain injury, caregiver, or clinician, you'll gain valuable insight into how smart technology can support cognitive functioning after brain injury.

In this workshop you can expect to:

  • Understand common cognitive challenges after brain injury

  • Learn how smart devices can support memory, focus, and organization.

  • Explore strategies and tools to build greater independence and confidence.
