LYB Retreat Team

About me: I serve as a Retreat Ambassador for LoveYourBrain. When I am not ambassadoring, you can find me exploring ways to use movement and creativity as modalities for healing from my injury. I’m also happiest by the water.

Why LYB: A few years ago, I had the opportunity to be a participant during one of the Fall Maine Retreats and fell in love with the community and the format. This experience coupled with the support I found early on in my injury through the LYB online services has inspired me to give back and support the LoveYourBrain community in the ways that I can.

Superhero: I have a lot of superheroes in my life! From my mom to the many people I have met in the TBI community— each walking themselves through such enormous setbacks and challenges and doing so with great strength, humility and grace. Recently, I’ve come to even appreciate myself as a superhero, too! After my injury, I had to channel my own inner superhero power to help me through the healing process. When I think of all that I have done, experienced, learned, and shared along the way, I think that inner super hero is now full fledged. Not to mention, TBIs give us superhero powers like a deep sense of awareness, heightened sensitivities, and vast open-hearted compassion.
